Test of English as a Foreign Language is a standardized test to measure the English language ability of non-native speakers wishing to enroll in English-speaking universities. The test is accepted by many English-speaking academic and professional institutions.

- The cost of this test is $205. For additional scores to be sent to schools or to yourself it costs $20 for each extra report.
- This test comprises of 4 sections (120 point)
- Reading – 30 points
- Listening – 30 points
- Writing – 30 points
- Speaking – 30 points
- The test results are usually out in a week or 10 days.
- The overall score 100 and above is considered a good score to get an interview from any dental school. It is better if you score 25 in each individual section, as few schools are particular on the individual section scores. For Example – University of Michigan.
- Do not be demotivated if you have score under 100 because there are applicants who get invited with score below 100 as well, it is the overall profile that matters the most.

- TOEFL Home Edition (Which started new in 2020 due to covid) are accepted in few schools for the time being, once the covid situation is resolved, the chances of this type of test to be accepted might be low.
